These engines are made from small like this one to hundreds of HP.
If you look inside any engine that’s running that fast you may want to run for cover.
That’s being developed now.
Yes, that is being developed.
These small engines can be run on a pressure cooker. I even run it on a espresso pot.
Yes!
It’s being use in boats, why not cars and scooters. A small boiler would be required.
O-rings. Because it has straight-line movement, it does not require lubrication other than the steam itself.
A regular crank shaft produces side pressures that require substantial lubrication. This system produces straight-line movement that reduces friction. The mechanical leverage is about the same. The flex rod mechanism requires only one bearing for multiple cylinders.
You’re right. I should have said that all fuel fired utilities use steam.
All electricity is made with steam. Even nukes. The difference is that with this engine one can make the steam from renewable and free fuels such as geothermal, solar, dung, wood chips, saw dust, rice husks, and other unprocessed fuels. Because it uses low pressure steam, it can be used in and around the home.
Good question. Because this engine operates on low steam pressure, it is possible to operate it in your home. Anything over 200 psi is required by law to have a 24 hour attendant. A steam turbine will not operate at these low pressures. Because my engine can be run on solar as well as any cheap or free fuel, it matters little about the volume of steam. BTW, turbines blow blades frequently and they are very expensive to build and repair. That is why small turbines are not available.
You sound very knowledgeable. Perhaps you can explain to the folks out there why there are no small turbines available for purchase. Tell us why there are no boiler available for small turbines as well. Could it have something to due with the pressure required to run turbines as opposed to piston engines? In contrast, my three manufacturers can not keep up with the demand for my engines.
Or… the same steam and pressure could be used to turn a more efficient steam turbine with generator attached and make more power… why would you use this contrivance with all those unbalanced moving parts to wear out? Haven’t you ever looked inside a simple turbine.. there’s only a housing and a turbine.. this is a joke!
this is really intresting on two of steam engines down the railway have steam generators for electric lights on the front and back and in the cab and also ones that light up the wheels
Your engine is elegantly simple which is impressive. However, the volume & pressure of steam required to operate a generator capeable of producing 10 – 30 KW (needs of a small home) would be very high. How would you propose to produce this volume of steam and what would this cost? Wouldn’t a low pressure High volume steam turbine be more efficient and durable than a reciprocating engine? Can your engine operate at maximum power output for tens of thousands of hours? Cool project though.
this device is very inovative . But i think that the crank shaft type system is far more efficient . I have never measured the difference between the two, but it sounds like a good experiment
how do you seal the pistons?
Could this be combined with the wet back of a wood heater? When there’s no sun in winter and the wood heater is being used as a stove/heater/water heater could it be used to supplement power?
Would this steam engine be suitable in a car or scooter?
Man, you need to make this product available as soon as possible. You will make a fortune! Have you seen the sales data for off-the-grid survivalist products in the last year? People are preparing for this stupid 2012 (non) event, and they will buy the hell out of something like this.
upscale this model and start mass production and you will be a wealthy dude,,peace out^_^
could this be powered by a pressure cooker on a wood stove?
or is the gas volume requirement much higher?
Would you be able to wrap the exhaust headders of a car with copper tubing and pump water through that? Would it be illegal? Copper melts at around 1900* F so I don’t think it would get hot enough to melt with water running through it.
Thoughts?
verry nice,rikis6
