  1. It’s just more of the military complex that Americans don’t give a flip about. They’ll never stop it. But I mostly think how ignorant and hollow and trendy liberals are when they support people so passionately and then ignore when they’re doing what they campaigned against.

  2. I don’t agree we with you we should mind our own business take care of our own problems first and the when we are back on our feet standing strong and not in debt but with a trillion dollar surplus then we can help other Nations of the world.
And why is it that he only helps muslims and blacks makes you wonder whom the real racist is don’t it?

  3. I’d bet it’s some Green Berets training the locals along with a lot more ISR.

Nothing against the Greenies (have a cousin who is in there), but in a situation like this, our ISR assets are more valuable (and more politically tasteful) than our trigger-pullers.

After all, how far is the nearest airstrip that you can base a Predator-equipped drone out of?

    Just my suspicion.

    @Private Voytek:
-“Nobody likes when someone occupies them”
Which is why we’re not. We’re there supporting the Ugandan government’s long running war against the brutal, sadistic LRA.

“-We have enough on our plate in the middle east”
The impact of deploying 100 troops to Uganda is laughably small to military efforts.

“-Are you gonna pay for all those troops?”
Yes. Again, the costs spent supporting these troops amount to a rounding error to the federal government.

“-It’s pointless, Africa can never be helped”
Then let’s spray the entire continent with VX and get it over with. You’d be happy then, right?

“-While were at it, why not colonize them?”
Because we’re trying to help them. We really don’t want to try and absorb the costs of trying to colonize them; nor do we genuinely care to, despite what many people think. I suppose you would be happier letting us leave them alone, and continue to let the LRA run free? That’s much nicer and more polite, now isn’t?

Because it’s not worth trying to do some good in the world, is it? Since it won’t work, there’s no point to it. F*ck all those dark-skinned people, huh?

  4. They’re just there to train locals. Though of course with the caveat they are authorized to shoot back in self-defense. Really, all these rebels are rather annoying, causing political instability for nothing. Someone needs to get rid of them.

  5. Yeah well um that’d be a huge waste and here’s why:

-Nobody likes when someone occupies them

-We have enough on our plate in the middle east

-Are you gonna pay for all those troops?

-It’s pointless, Africa can never be helped

While were at it, why not colonize them?

  6. with all the secrets of special forces, we are probably already over there. why should we help another country when our’s is in the crapper

What do you guys think about troops being sent to Africa?

Question by : What do you guys think about troops being sent to Africa?
Now, as many of us know, many countries in Africa have been in a state of war and quite literally genocide for the past twenty years, but no one has had the type of resources or times to help. Or so they say anyways. BUT, it looks like Obama is trying to do some good. One hundred troops are being deployed throughout Uganda, Sudan, Central African Republic, and of course the Congo to help combat the LRA, which is the Rebels. Hence, if you’ve ever heard of child Soldiers in Africa, it started with these guys, they give them cocaine mixed with black powder, and then throw them an AK, and tell them where to go and who to kill. Quite literally millions of people have been killed by the LRA, and millions more have been displaced due to the LRA burning down entire villages, even cities. They are known to rape, pillage, murder, they will do anything they want really. They force the children to kill their parents quite often, sort of as the “entrance” test.

Now, the troops being deployed are combat equipped, BUT, ROE is that they are not to engage in combat unless of course it is in defense. My guess as to who it is? Delta, maybe SF, but with only a hundred guys, either way you know what they are doing is training the governments militia and helping root out the corrupted government in the said African countries, as well as helping them expand the militia to increase numbers. Their main goal though is to oust the LRA’s top leaders.

Now, other than the “Oh America should stop policing the world and stealing oil” bullshit what do people think about this? Smart decision on Obama’s part? About damn time we do something? Or we shouldn’t be over there for legitimate reasons? Let the bastards burn every city in Africa down and then rape every female they can?
Charles B: You are completely right, I don’t know why I would assume 1st SFOD-D would be there. I was just thinking of the size of SFOD and then making assumptions. Its probably Army: SF. I would agree with the other posters about it just being Military advisers, but the LRA is no joke, these guys are dangerous. Its seems to me like they would send men who know what their doing with a rifle just as well as they know how to train and collect intelligence.
Sorry I meant Charles B and Ed* on the last one.

And Tom Sawyer, who else is there to help? You don’t exactly see many European or white-based cultures on the edge of practically being sucked up by a black hole do you? Africa has needed help for over twenty years, and we’ve tried helping them in numerous ways, but so far, its all failed due to the corrupt government/LRA being able to get their hands on the supplies we do send. And I understand where you’re coming from with the whole “Help ourselves” things, but isn’t there a time when you should ask yourself “If not me, then who?”
I agree with that actually Inkstick, it makes more sense than putting a bunch of elite trigger pullers over there.

So its probably a few Greenies along with Air Force ISR then… Hmm. Well I hope they can do some good over there, like Master of None said, the rebels are getting old.
