The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. Its funny… your over thinking it to prove your point… take him to the grid…. all AC… why do you think they use AC…thats all you would have had to say… but good job slamming it in his face, ppl sometimes need it.

  2. Also, wire thickness is why we used a 48 Volt DC system as opposed to 12 or 24 which require a lot thicker wire. :O

  3. Well, which is better depends on application. Here, it’s AC. For most purposes, DC is the standard. The reason for our AC grid has to do with ease of conversion & safety. Converting AC is just a matter of using transformers made of wire & iron (DC is more complicated, especially at high voltages). It’s safer because it doesn’t hold a bite but lets go every 1/120th of a second. Also, wire thickness has to do with current flow. I could use much smaller wire for 100VDC @ 1A than 10VAC @ 10A. :)

  4. yea its kind of hard to build a Tesla coil with out ac lol. I found a video trying to say dc was better buy like 1 to 3 precent. but he was only using singal phase ac not 3 phase. And NIcola Tesla proved that you could transmit the same power over a small wire with ac as you could with a thick wire dc. … so ac was one cheaper and you only need one wire and a line to ground to have power were as dc you had to have 2 wires to provide the same power.

  5. I haven’t read a whole lot, but I remember reading something about the resonant frequency of the earth. IIRC, at least the transmitting coil would have to be the size of Texas. :O
But yes, he was a pretty interesting genius.

  6. Yes, But didn’t Tesla want to transmit it through the earth at 8Hz then rectify it back up to usable power levels by using small household converters? Bit of a genius that man.

  7. There’s nothing wrong with DC output, it works. It’s just that AC works better for long runs. We decided to go all AC output on our pma’s to save people money on cable. Short runs with DC is fine, even long runs with DC will work fine but the cost of heavier cable is not good for anyone. It just made sense for us to make all the pma’s with the same output.

  8. Well, when building a Tesla coil, it’s hard to not read the interesting history behind it. :D But Tesla wanted to go to the extreme and transmit electricity wirelessly. Thankfully that didn’t happen. There’s too many radio waves going through us as it is!

  9. Of course AC is better! The whole reason why the grid is AC (pushed by Nicola Tesla) is because DC (pushed by Edison) wasn’t practical in either transmission or conversion.

  10. Thank you for a well done, well documented explanation. This debunks a lot of the trash our competitiion tries to pour out and obscure the facts. I am going to send this out to all my customers and to everyone who requests any information. This is the type of information that needs to be available to make an educated choice when making a buying decision. Nicely Done!

  11. I thought you would say check out Jeff’s video on how to convert DC to AC . He has lots of cool video’s on about everything there is on building a PMA.

  12. just google Voltage Drop Calculator

and it will have it there. its a great Calculate if you want to see how much line lose you will have if you want to run power lines ect or electrical. it is all pased off of 60 hz ac and just strait DC but for AC the frequnzy has factor to play in the distance power can travel. Telesa has proven that AC will travel futher than dc. again tis is a great Calculater.

  13. I hope this lays the question to rest, whats better ? ac output or dc output.
    Well done charles.

why 3 phase AC output wind turbine generator better than dc output teomeimf

Missouri Wind And Solar website www.mwands.com You can also find us on Ebay at http Our facebook page www.facebook.com Check out our forum on wind and solar www.otgproducts.com This video was created by mcunecp. Thermodyne systems, teomeimf channel, has tried to convince people that DC output on wind turbines is better than 3 phase AC output. When most of the wind turbines produced are 3 phase ac output only thermodyne uses inefficient dc output on there wind turbines because it’s cheaper for them to make. You loose on dc output, ac wins.
