geothermal energy plants let out steam through chimneys. But i heard that they put the used steam through a turbine, then into a condenser and back into the ground, to be reused. So why do they let out the steam through the chimneys?

Turbines and heat exchangers are not 100% efficient.
Especially as loads are changing.
Some steam must be vented.
