  1. Made in America I hope *cough* Arlington Texas assembly plant wouldn’t be bad *cough* Please!

  2. You’re right, thought the same thing with that slanted line up to the rear. I knew someone else was gonna pull the celica card out. Still, it’s nice though.

  3. Can you explain to me how in the hell the futuristic, race car looking Cadillac ELR looks like the soccer mom go cart Prius?

  4. The Toyota Prius plug-in gets 50 MPG + 13 miles on pure electricity. That’s equivalent to 75 MPG. The Chevy Volt gets 35 MPG however it does 40 miles on pure electricity. Equivalent to 75 MPG.

  5. I think the Prius is heinous, so to compare would be proposterous. THIS car is gorgeous.

I just saw it at the LA Auto Show, and it blew me away. I usually hate Cadillacs, but I am in love with this.

I also might add that, even though it looks beautiful here online, it looks even more amazing in person.

  6. Slightly incorrect. The Prius gets around 50 MPG alone, the plug-in model (which Google actually made their own first) gets around 100 MPG. Sources: google.org/recharge/experiment/ – toyota.com/prius-hybrid/

  7. LOL… That comment reminds me of the caveman in the milk comercial, “I get milk from rock?” and says “how did you get rock from cow?” If prius ever looked this good I’d have one years ago. Instead it looks like…. well a prius.. yuk.

  8. The new Cadillac aims at making cars for all platforms. They have hybrids, SUVs, luxury crossovers, luxury sports/muscle/high performance cars and of course plain luxury sedan (cruiser) like the CTS base. Yes, they ARE a luxury car brand and GM’s premium brand. They are the Bently of America.

  9. The future will be great. More and more Electric-Hybrid Vehicles are expected to hit the road soon. The Chevy Volt gets 40 miles on pure Battery-EV. The Toyota Prius plug-in Hybrid gets 50MPG.

  10. this is for the guy/girl who wants a powerful, luxury and eco-friendly car!
    way to go caddy!
not to mention it’s an AMERICAN company

  11. No doubt this is a strikingly good looking car. It appears to take shape almost like a Lamborghini. However can Cadillac really call themselves a luxury car brand when making these sports cars? Perhaps I am mistaken, as I have always thought of Cadillac as a luxury cruiser. A car that could drive over a pothole without ever letting the driver know something happened. That’s not to say that these new “sports cars”, that rival the bmw m3, as well as other foreign contenders, is a bad thing.

Introducing the Cadillac ELR – Electric Hybrid Coupe

Cadillac is proud to announce production of the new standard in extended-range electric vehicles. The Cadillac ELR is a luxurious, dramatic 2+2 coupe, based on the highly acclaimed Cadillac Converj Concept. Using electricity as its primary propulsion source and a range-extending four-cylinder engine, the ELR will be as exhilarating as it is responsible. The future is just around the corner.
