  10. HELLO ARUN, THE OHMS AND THE VOLTAGE SOUNDS RIGHT. THIS UNIT WILL PROBABLY BE BEST SUITED FOR A 48 VOLT BATTERY BANK. TOO LOW OF A BATTERY BANK VOLTAGE WILL CAUSE THE BLADES TO STALL OUT. IF THE COILS ARE JOINED BY ONE COMMON WIRE LEAVING 3 WIRES. THEN YOU WILL NEED ONLY ONE DIODE BRIDGE RECTIFIER. CONNECT THE 2 REMAINING WIRES, LEAVING THE COMMON OUT OF THE CIRCUIT. YOUR VOLTAGE WILL BE DOUBLE.
    YOU CAN TRY THE DRILLING, BUT I THINK IT WILL WARP THE RING. THIN STEEL BANDING IS EASY

    ON THESE UNITS, I USUALLY MAKE THE PROPS AT 4.5 TO 6 FOOT DIAMETER. 6 FOOT ON THE RARE BUT POWERFUL MOTORS, AND 4.5 FOOT FOR THE SMALLER MORE POPULAR MOTORS. 5 FOOT IS ALWAYS A GOOD GUESS. THE LONGER THE PROP, THE SLOWER IT ROTATES, BUT THE MORE WIND IT HARNESSES. WHEN YOU DOUBLE THE LENGTH OF THE PROP, YOU GET 4 TIMES THE POWER HARVESTED. WHEN THE WIND DOUBLES, THE POWER FACTOR INCREASES BY A FACTOR OF 8 TIMES. TOO BIG OF A PROP WILL OVERPOWER THE ALT.

  13. Hi muddy,I have already started with a old ceiling fan of mine in India. Its 230 V and I think it might be around 60 to 70 W, the coils are of course 200+ ohm and here the config is that the stator has 3 wires out using one wire as common for both the coils in series. Is it a good idea to drill holes in the induction ring and fit the magnets in the holes and then fit the induction ring back in to the casing?would it work? coz i prefer that nice fit of the induction ring than making a bandring :D

  14. THE 2 MAGNETS ARE OF THE SAME POLARITY OF COURSE, THE COGGING WENT UP, BUT I DIDNT NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE PROP ON IT. IT JUST PUTS OUT MORE WHEN THE WIND PICKS UP. AND IT SEEMED TO START UP THE SAME. SO I THINK THE COGGING IS STILL NEGLIGABLE. BESIDES ONCE IT SPINS FOR THE FIRST REVOLUTION, IT KEEPS SPINNING IN WINDS DOWN TO 4 MPH. IT SEEMS TO LIKE 24 VOLT SYSTEMS MORE THAT 12 OR 48, BUT STILL WORKS FINE ON ALL. THAT’S BECAUSE OF THE RESISTANCE IN THE COILS.

  15. Hey Scott I see you started out using 1 magnet per coil but then went to 2 magnets per coil? Will it work with 1 magnet per coil or is 2 per coil needed? I am only guesing is their less cogging with 2 magnets or more cogging? Thanks and keep up the great vids.

  16. SO YOUR FANS RUN ABOUT 1/4 AMP INPUT. SO I BET YOUR COILS ARE 200 OHMS ON THE OHM METER. I WOULD SUGGEST A 4.5 TO 5 FOOT PROP.

  17. SURE YOU CAN. I WOULD. I WOULD USE A 48 VOLT BATTERY BANK FOR OPTIMUM COLLECTION, AND THE BATTERIES WILL KEEP THE VOLTAGE DOWN LIKE A VOLTAGE REGULATOR. I USE 24 VOLTS HERE.

  18. One more question lol, might be a stupid question but I herd you say your fans are 110v! We use 240v here in Australia for our fans and I just want to know can I still use those exact “full wave diode bridge rectifier’s 1000v 8amp’s”???

  19. THERE IS A SERIES CALLED. HOW TO CEILING FAN WIND TURBINE. AND A SEPARATE SERIES CALLED THE CEILING FAN WIND TURBINE CLASS. THEY ARE IN ORDER FROM 1 BEING THE FIRST AND GOING UP AS THEY PROGRESS. THE REWIRE OF THE FOUR BLADED CEILING FAN WIND TURBINE IS JUST SUPLIMENTAL VIDEO.
    DO YOURSELF A FAVOR… MAKE 2 OF THEM. DO ONE FOR PRACTISE ON EACH STEP AS YOU GO, AND THEN DO THE SECOND ONE ON VIDEO EACH STEP. THEN PROCEED WITH THE NEXT STEP. AND MAKE THEM SHORTER VIDEOS.

PART 6 HOW TO CEILING FAN WIND TURBINE

THIS IS A VIDEO TO SHOW THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE BIG SYSTEMS OUT THERE. THE BLACK UNIT IN THE BACK GROUND IS THE ONE THAT IM MAKING FOR A FRIEND WHO WILL USE IT WITH GREAT GLADNESS. HIS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY LIGHTENING. IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH FOR REPAIRS AND NEW DEPOSITS AND OLD BILL TO RECONNECT, ESPECIALY WITH REPAIRS FOR A NEW SERVICE BOX AND UPDATING TO A BREAKER SYSTEM AND THE WIRES DESTROYED IN THE HOUSE. ALTHOUGH THIS UNIT WILL NOT NORMALLY SUPPLY A NORMAL HOUSE HOLD IT WILL ALLOW HIM TO HAVE LIGHTS , RADIO, TV , CELLPHONE CHARGING, AND A FEW MORE THINGS BUT NOT ALL AT ONCE OR CONSTANTLY. BUT 20 DOLLARS A DAY FOR GAS IN A GENERATOR IS NOT AN OPTION EITHER. A BAG OF ICE, AND A COOLER IS. WE ARE MAKING A SOLAR HOT WATER HEATER AS WELL. BY 1:00 PM HE WILL HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO DO DISHES AND GET A NICE HOT SHOWER. THEN RELAX BY THE TV OR RADIO FOR A FEW HOURS ON STORED ENERGY. THEN GO TO SLEEP WITH A SMILE. IF HE GETS UP IN THE NIGHT HE CAN JUST TURN ON THE LIGHT. AND ITS ALL FREE. I HAVE ONE CONFESSION TO MAKE ABOUT THE ONE IN THE FIRST VIDEO THAT EVERYONE HAS COMPLEMENTED ON FROM THE BEGINNING. THAT IS , THAT THE ONE THAT IS IN THE VIDEO IS THE 7th OR 8th ONE I DID. I DID IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE BUT I DESTROYED ONE OF THE COIL SETS IN IT BY PULLING ON THE WIRES TO HARD WHILE I WAS RETHREADING THE WIRES TO COME OUT THE OTHER SIDE. BUT THE 12 VOLT SYSTEM INSTEAD OF 24 VOLT SYSTEM WILL NOT SLOW THE BLADES DOWN WHEN
