If the biofuel is human fat, using it will cause people to lose weight and get healthier.
However, in general the problem with biofuels is that they use the same resources that are needed for food production. I think it is immoral to convert food to automobile fuel when there are hungry people in the world.
I guess I will write stuff for all the different types of biofuel.
For boimass:
Its advantages include renewability and possible tree plantations. It is relatively clean. It is relatively inexpensive.
Disadvantages: Cutting down trees too fast reduce the planet’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide. Tree plantations reduce biodiversity.
For ethanoyl and biodiesel:
General advantages: Reduced carbon oxide emissions, potentially renewable, and other indivisual advantages.
Ethanoyl: High octane, high net energy yield if it is made from switchgrass.
Biodiesel: Better gas milage than gasoline… that is it.
General disadvantages: Larger fuel tanks needed, general higher cost, may compete with food crops, and they are difficult to start in cold weather.
Ethanoyl: It is corrosive, and lower driving range.
Biodiesel: Need crop plantations that destroy biodiversity. More emission of nitrogen oxides.
And that is pretty much it.
