They have completely capped this darn well and it just has to pass a short test for 6 to 48 hours. In this clip the ROV does a quick inspection of everything from top to sea-floor bottom to top. Great views. NO LEAKS. LOTS OF STABLE PRESSURE READINGS. Credit is due. Thumbs up BP! Keep your thumb over the hole on that tea kettle.

They should have been more patient and not so greedy in the first place.

@jamesalexandershow They have two options after the integrity test is complete. Use drilling mud and kill and cement the bore hole. Or produce the oil and gas they can recover through 4 small lines and one large one they now have control over. The second is safer. No oil has been leaking for many hours now. This thing will hold the pressure. Relief well bore is 4 feet away from subsea casing pipe.
@chefboyrdee1 And they have stop the flow of oil causing the mess. Now there will be less to cleanup. They just saved you five weeks for oil gushing.

@adrianfi7 Consider it done! They will have to let a bit of oil out at sometime during one process but no more gushing constantly.

@adrianfi7 They are proceeding with caution. Good thing Bush isn’t in charge now. BP has control over the well and is now monitoring the pressure to make sure there are no sub sea leaks into the formation below the well head.
I don´t think it´s that easy I have build gas lines with 21″ steel tubes and it´s a hard and complicated deal, even with the line empty, now with the line full, it would be hell at 1500m down maybe impossible, this is the second time BP has made the claim to have stop the leak, there may be a third or more. These people are sick bastards with nothing to loose and looking for a little more time before the shit really hits the fan. For a short time they can rest easy now.
