It is one of the most abundant and affordable sources of energy available. However, it is difficult to harness and impractical in some parts of the world. So, it is important to explore in-depth, the process of converting sunlight to power. The three primary ways to produce solar power on a large scale are solar power generating plants, photovoltaic cells and solar thermal heaters. The only reason installers and others will try to scare you with the legal argument is that they want to control the market and make themselves the only ones who provide over-priced systems that only make them money and leave the home owner to pay more than they should. Forget the scare tactics and keep on doing what you’re doing. God bless you.
These grid tie inverters are used all over the world and they are safe. Years ago, they might not have been safe, but now that they have anti-islanding protection, there’s really no reason for power companies not to like them other than the fact that they don’t want competition. Power companies care more about profit than diyers trying to save the planet without going into debt purchasing a solar system from an installer that charges way more than they need to.
Hi Solarcell, I need help! I have three 250W Mitsubishi solar panels (750W total) – south facing on my roof – no shade at all on them. I run three 12gauge wires all the way to my 1200W PowerJack. I’m only getting 400 watts of power at the 110V outlet. What am I doing wrong? I’m here in sunny southern California. I’m hoping to get more power, but I am quite disappointed. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the details. What is most efficient, connecting the panels to the Grid tie in Parallel or Series. I think you have connected in Series. Have you ever tried connecting it in Parallel. I have seen other ppl complain of low output when connect in parallel. Can I make 12v solar panel (70w) panel and put 4 of them in series to an 28-52vdc 300w ebay Grid tie inverter ?
I like what you’re doing but a single refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, heater, hair dryer, microwave, washer/dryer toaster can eat everything you can generate with those panels. You could run all your cfl or led lights and a tv or two, especially led backlit lcd tv with this, but to go off grid with just those panels would be like roughing it. 450w is barely enough for a mini motorhome. How much did the panels cost to build and what did you save over ebay demo or used panels or something?

let me see here. yournot worried about the legal problems using the power jack gti’s. ok. try running your entire home off what you have now!! at the moment i have over 6.6kw’s of solar and 4 windturbines. i can run my home off what i have, you can’t on what your showing here. hell my battery bank is large enough to run the entire house 3 days alone. as far as a democrat, now that is funny!! i think they are slime. your young. later on in life you’ll look back and luagh at your reply.
this power jack when you come as close to the peak volt input you will get the most power and at a lower price for the DIY Fans the republicans that like to save money and screw all the Legal bull Crap if it saves me money and i put it together then its legal to me

I have allot of trees in the way of my power, But just with my small set up i cut my power No joke 40% if i could get the full power with out the trees in the way i would get 9 to 10 hours of sun it would power every thing in my house family of 4 Just needs to be set up correct

Nobody tells how much money do you save or percent off your electric bill does the system you’re using. thank you
if your using a power jack gti, your getting about half the output you should be. it took me about two years to figure out i was not doing myself a favore by using them. after upgrading to powercomusa solar king gti’s i was amazed. i was getting within 20-50 watts of maximumpower output. i had to get net metering on my system. mine is a legal system. you better check your local rules. i don’t think your system is legal.

I Ran At First 15 Feet all 12 Gage and i Had No Power Loss at Open Volts at 40v

I have 6 GAGE Wire Connecting all Pnels together and 6 Gage Into The Attic Of the Garage
and then the Rest of the way Down 12 Gage. The Panels are a Mix 110 watt and 120 watt all Tied In series For Higher Volts 40 volts Open so When you Run Higher Volts You will Have less Power Loss From the Wire In Dc
So with them Mix they are 110 watts each Blemished Panels I Gird Tie In Just on the 4 Panels at over 440 watts Thats Grid Tie watts 110 watts each
I Dont have Much Power Loss
From the looks of the size wire you are using you could improve your wattage a whole lot by using some multi stranded 10 or 8 gauge wire. You have to be experiencing voltage drop of 3 or 4 volts.
