BP Doesn’t Clean Up its Act
Tragedy struck when one of BP’s oil rigs on the Gulf of Mexico exploded spilling over a billion litres of oil into the sea. The oil spill happened because the blowout preventer was supposed to stop the oil and gas from coming into the water but it failed. Since the incident 17 people have been injured and 11 people have died. The oil rig exploded on April the 20th since then BP has been trying to clean it up.
When the oil leaked into the sea, BP realised it would be a mammoth task to clean it up. One of the first attempts was to pump huge amounts of mud into the blowout preventer in an operation called top kill. Operation top kill failed. Since then a cap has been placed back on the oil rig to stop any more oil spilling but there is still all of the oil in the sea to clean up. The Big question now is; how is BP going to clean up the oil? Although they have tried many different ways, it is still unsure how they are going to clean up the oil. The oil spill has caused damage to a lot of animals, trees, beaches and human lives so we hope BP get something sorted out and quick.
P.S if you have a better idea for a title please let me know thank you!

I do like the title. I found 1 mistake-realise (line 5, word 9) should be spelled realize. Also, instead of putting a lot (line 10) put many. Lastly, for a newspaper article, you need to keep it without an opinion to appeal to all readers (though I don’t know who would like the oil spill) so replace the ending of your last sentence with, “BP is still trying to figure out what to do in order to stop the leak, so for right now beach-goers are advised to stay out of the water in affected areas.”

All in all, Good Job!
