  1. Hopefully soon. We Americans are very good at creating markets for various products useful to our everyday lives. If everyone can get on the bandwagon, including our own automakers, and innovate ideas like Honda, then it won’t take long for the oil moguls in the Middle East and abroad to destroy themselves over a earthly material. My point is, hopefully it won’t take too long for us to destroy their political power, and soon enough with this technology, Americans and other industrialized nations will have these third world Middle Eastern countries “by the balls.” The next decade will be an interesting one, and I’m all for being part of that market that “murders” a politically powerful Middle East.

  2. Petro dollars dude….the replacement for the gold standard…America will have to lose trillions in economic value.

  3. never happen….the oil companies will never allow that, they are the real power, every barrel of oil yields about $2500 in profits to big oil, and is made into, Tires, fertilizer, drugs, fuel oil, Gas was a useless by product until 1919, tax payers subsidize oil companies so they have much greater profit margins, and they own 90% of our politicians.

  4. I’m guessing we could pull it off within two years of the OPEC countries denominating their oil in euros.

Q&A: How long will it take for us to destroy the political power of oil producing nations?

Honda has a new hydrogen powered car coming out. American consumers have the power to create a market that can later feed the rest of the world. Every generation hates fossil fuels more than the previous one and now we are starting to generate the products to ween ourselves off…so how long is it going to take before the middle east will be back where they were in the 19th century?

it will only stop when the oil runs out. i know some people who say “so my runs on diesel, who cares? it still runs, those other people’s hybrid cars will make up for it.” they won’t change until the oil runs out or until all things run off of something else.
