The world needs a new source of energy, an unspillable source.

  1. @2karriizman By the way, there are currently for profit fuel cell companies, such as Protonex, which sells sub 500W systems. They have been very successful.

Are you against capitalism? Is it wrong for someone to sell something that people want to buy? Their systems provide efficient and silent power generation, and a reasonable cost. Is that wrong?

Explain how fuel cells are “crap?” I haven’t made electricity while defecating just yet

  2. @2karriizman Primitive is what we call old technology, specifically the baghdad battery you mentioned.

Yes, the effects of fuel cells are speculation, but in order to gather investors, you have to convince them, even within a company.

I might have overstepped my bounds on the religion, but I think there is a 90% chance you’re religious given your poor grasp of reality.

You didn’t answer my question, why are you against fuel cell technology? Why does fuel cell research pay my wage?

  3. @getsafe1212
Speculation, may have, primitive??? So you have done a bit of time travelling?? The effects of fuel cells on the planet are speculation . Religious nonsense ? Watt religion??? To me you assume too much and think you have the answers to everything .
Go to ABC Australia – New Inventors – D drive – and check this out. Scientists are not the only people able to problem solve .

  4. @2karriizman The Parthian Battery is speculation, they may have had primitive galvanic cells for electroplating. They would have blamed the gods for a miracle however, they certainly did not understand the chemical mechanisms that would make the cell possible.

What’s your motivation for spreading mis information about fuel cells? You’re obviously not an expert in the subject, or in any subject as far as I can tell. Go back to spreading religious non-sense, your comments are a waste of time

  5. @2karriizman Technology is developed during war time, but also on NASA missions. Science and technology are related, but you can’t blame war on science, or war on technology.

Your way of thinking means nothing to the progress of science – thousands of professional scientists and engineers research fuel cells throughout the world. Can you back up why fuel cells are “crap,” because tons of lectures are given everyday about the promise of fuel cells as part of the green energy economy?

  6. @2karriizman I don’t know what you’re talking about, “Fukall?” The achievements of the ancients is part of anthropology, one branch of science, where evidence is hard to come by. How amazed would the ancients be at modern sciences achievements?

No, if it is not in the text books, it’s probably an active field of research, because scientists have QUESTIONS. That’s the nature of science, explaining the unknown.

There are theories about how the blocks were moved, but insufficient evidence

  7. Forget hydrogen? Forget YOU and your impractical dream of having an electrical socket on every curbside – how ridiculous can you get….?

  8. not all science is good science.most of the technology we have today in everyday use is a byproduct of scientists finding efficient ways to fight wars and blow the crap out of humanity. fuell cells to my way of thinking are crap.

  9. the Baghdad battery was around in ancient times watt goes round comes round .

  10. @getsafe1212 There was fukall care for humanity when the atomic bomb was made by scientists and dropped on the Japanese .The achivements in ancient times still have scientists baffeled as to how quarried foundation rocks were moved into place before pyramids were even thought about. these quarried rocks make the blocks in pyramids look small. So if its not in your text book its not real????

  11. @getsafe1212 probly a spark plug with a fuel cell hooked up to it so ya get the (hydrogen) exiting fuel burning cause ya wont go to far if ya cant light the gas.lol

  12. @TheEradicator13 Yes, by unit volume gasoline has a higher hydrogen density than H2 at 1 atm. However liquid or solid hydrogen has a higher density of hydrogen than gasoline (lq).

This was really an aside in the conversation, I just wanted to emphasize that pure hydrogen is just that, gasoline is does not have a higher concentration (mol%, Wt.%) of hydrogen.

  13. @Pusalieth There part about gravity is purely wrong, Einstein’s general theory of relativity was originally called “the geometric theory of gravitation”

Fuel cells need a fuel, so water won’t work. In electrolysis mode, they split water, but the require electrical energy in. I research solid oxide fuel cells, which use a nickel catalyst in the anode, and perovskites for the electrolyte, cathode, and current collection. You forgot your e-‘s, that’s what’s essential for fuel cells.

  14. @getsafe1212 Fact: by volume hydrogen has lower energy density than gasoline by a good amount. On top of that theres more hydrogen in gas than in liquid hydrogen.

  15. @Pusalieth I don’t believe efficiency would be increased with the addition of hydrogen.

I can’t decipher what you mean by “because of the higher density per cubic centimeter of air and energy release when used with gasoline.” H2 has lowest density of any gas. As for the gasoline part, it’s not reacting with the gasoline at all. It’s not a catalyst, and it’s not an oxidizer. When gas is burned, there are actually many steps in the reaction, ending with much hydrogen reacting to become water

  16. @2karriizman In ancient times many things were discovered through trial and error. That is why many foods are not “kosher” in the old testament, and why superstition still plagues much of the modern world.

Modern invention (since at least the 2nd industrial revolution) has been purely driven by real science, not trial and error. Scientists care about the health of the Earth because our existence is tied to it, and scientists care about humanity.

Use some damn periods in the next post

  17. @dearlyynaveed A fuel cell produces electricity: Therefore is can power any electrical device (with the help of power conditioning equipment)

  18. @TheEradicator13 That’s not true, H2 (diatomic hydrogen) is composed purely of hydrogen atoms. So pure H2 has a higher concentration of hydrogen than hydrocarbons, which contain carbon. Liquid hydrogen would have a higher energy density than gasoline also, but it has to be cold as balls

  19. @2karriizman Fuel cells were used by NASA since the 60s because of their high power to volume ratio. It’s certainly not magic to combine hydrogen and oxygen into pure steam. As a matter of fact, that’s the basis of all chemistry.

Why would you fuel a rocket off electricity? Better yet how? Rockets work because of conservation of momentum: the exiting fuel results in a force equal to the lift experienced by the rocket

  20. @Pusalieth everything involves physics but this is the subject of chemistry. Not saying the college but trust me i know my stuff I’ve made these things.

  21. @TheEradicator13
Prefrontal cortex is logic and higher reasoning, Amygdala is emotions, and physics is everything so everything is physics, and I’m sorry I didn’t get my english right and if your the president of a alternative energy club thats said, but may I ask what college?

  22. 0:30 – With a tank filled with hydrogen, what happens if you get rear-ended and the tank ruptures? This goes years back to why they stopped using hydrogen in blimps and started using helium.

  23. i reckon hydrogen is a great FUEL if it burns its fuel. to get pure water when ya do thats magic .it would be magic to see a rocket take off with a fuel cell propelling it.or is that wishfull thinking???

  24. @Pusalieth Im bored of this if your dumb enough to call my prefrontal cortex stupid and try comparing something as complicated as a string of hydrocarbons to fruit Im not teaching you the crap you need to know to get what I’m saying. This is chemistry btw not physics. As previously stated your not quite grasping the concept and you have no idea what your trying to say.

Re: hydrogen fuel cell

This should explain it for you. Watch “Who Killed The Electric Car?” We don’t need Hydrogen cars, batteries will work just fine for most people.
