Question by jdman13: So what is the energy answer according to the left?
“The Tennessee Valley Authority has asked the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for an operating license at the Rhea County site, however, the Sierra Club, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, the Tennessee Environmental Council, the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League, and We the People Inc. are asking the Commission to refuse the request.”

The left are still protesting against nuclear power even though there has never been a catastrophic accident in the US. Three mile island ALMOST went bad, but the problem was caught and they shut the reactor down before anything major happened.
Wind and solar power do not put out enough energy to meet the demand of the US. It would take a solar panel field the size of New Hampshire just to supply enough electricity for Tennessee alone. Wind power is about the same. So what is the answer, why does the left protest nuclear power? These new nuclear power plants could pull us away from coal fire plants.
sadcat, you need to research that idea, look up ‘ protests against NRC’ Diablo canyon in CA is being protested by five more enviromentalists groups. NRC is being protested EVERYTIME a new license or renewal is applied for.
