  1. Spin Your Electric Meter Backwards with Solar Power
A large portion of the cost of a residential system is offset by state rebates and federal tax credits. In addition, installing a solar electric system increases the value of your home up to 8%.

  2. I got sick of it to now I’m running strictly solar It was either that or get a second job and I’m sick of that to working my butt off just to pay the light bill .I don’t think they think we have to eat to . I believe they really don’t give a rats butt if you eat or not as long as there sitting in there nice cooperate air conditioned office driving that new hummer vacationing 2 months out of the year oh don’t forget the maid . I’m hope that this works out ( http://www.first-molecule.com )alternative fuel company and puts an end to this nightmare.

  3. I do think they should be charged more if they are using too much…i for one do not use air conditioning or put the heat on in the winter…i live in California near Fresno…there is like no weather here… I moved from New York City and let me tell you there is a huge difference from my idea of cold and their idea of cold…if there is even a breeze they take for cover and come back out with a coat for Alaska…
the beautiful cool summer mornings the kids come to school with jackets…yet these are the same folks that have the air and heat on to the roof…=
do you ever notice that in the summer they have the house as cold as they say the winter is too cold for…and then in the winter they have the heat as high as the summer temperature…I was raised in a situation that you paid rent according to how much power you used…so my mom said if your feeling cold in the evening then its time for you to go to bed…as for the summers we always had the windows open and a fan…and let me tell you the summers in New York were just as hot in the night as the day…at least in California the nights are bliss for sleeping…I say get real and learn to enjoy the weather the way it is…our ancestors did so what are we pansies? Hey and your right only in Sonora, California was I ever rewarded for conserving energy…they came out to see how I used $50 to heat the same house that was always a minimum of $150. When I showed them how I was saving they gave me a free month of utilites. Now that is an incentive don’t you think?

  4. Simple

There are fixed costs and there are variable costs in any manufacturing, including electricity. For example the cost of the meter etc is figured into your rate, that is a fixed cost. If you buy more electricity they can spread that fixed cost out over more kilowatts.

As the quantity you buy goes up the variable cost goes up but the fixed cost doesn’t.

Why is it when we use less electricity, that we have to pay more?

If it’s not bad enough with the gas prices, does that mean the electricity has to blow a fuse too. I personally think that the power companies would make a lot more if they would charge more if you use more and less is you use less. Everyone is screaming CONSERVE, CONSERVE, but yet when we conserve we are finiancially punished. I am tired of corperate companies thinking that they can rule the roost, persay, cause if in wasn’t for us, the consumer, they would be just twildling their thumbs. Thanks for your time. Just wanted to know if I am the only one that is feeling the Burn of the power co.
