  1. A voltaic cell spontaneously converts chemical energy to electrical energy.

    And an electrolytic cell requires electrical energy to produce chemical change. This process is known as electrolysis.

  2. In an electrolytic cell you need an outside source of energy like a battery while in a voltaic cell the reaction occurs simultaneously, or without help. The other major difference is that in a electrolytic cell, the flow of electrons is from positive(cathode) to negative(anode). In an voltaic cell the flow of electrons is from negative(anode) to positive(cathode).

  3. i don’t remember now, it was long back when i studied these things.

  4. ENERGY CAN NEVER BE CREATED NOR DESTROTED/
    1.VOLTAIC CELL –> CHEMICAL ENERGY —> ELECTRICAL ENERGY
    2. Electrolytic cell—-> Electrical energy —-> chemical energy—> electrolysis

What are the main differences between an electrolytic cell and voltaic cell ??
